/Surgery News Articles/ -- COLUMBIA, SC, February 3, 2011, Joel Grice, Managing Partner at Grice & Whiteside, LLC, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in health care consulting.

Mr. Grice has 37 years of experience in health care consulting and three years of experience as managing partner of Grice & Whiteside, LLC. He consults with physicians and hospitals to obtain state approval for the development of new health care facilities, such as hospitals, nursing homes and ambulatory surgery centers. Prior to establishing Grice & Whiteside, LLC, Mr. Grice worked as director of the Bureau of Health Facilities and Services Development for the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.

He began working for the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control as an environmentalist in 1975, and was promoted to director in 1984, remaining in that position for 18 years. In 2001, he was promoted again to bureau director. As a consultant with Grice & Whiteside, LLC, Mr. Grice is able to offer his clients unparalleled knowledge of the South Carolina health planning process.

Mr. Grice earned both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of South Carolina. He is a member of South Carolina Public Health Association, American Public Health Association, NEHA, and, the University of South Carolina University Associates.
