MINNEAPOLIS, MN, September 7, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mojca Remskar Konia, Anesthesiologist and Assistant Professor of the University of Minnesota, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in cardiac anesthesiology.
With two years of experience as an anesthesiologist and assistant professor of the University of Minnesota, Mojca Remskar Konia is responsible for assisting in heart, lung and vascular surgery for pediatric patients, teaching students and residents using simulators, and directing residency and simulation perioperative resources for training and learning programs. Dr. Konia joined the University of Minnesota in 2008 and has graced the department and program with her calm demeanor, her commitment to education and the development of excellent didactic programs. In the past years, she has made large strides in the development of a diverse simulation lab experience and has worked hard on the assimilation of echocardiography training into the program. Dr. Konia goes above and beyond being a basic anesthesiologist. She is an academician, an educator, a superb clinician, a friend, and a mentor for residents. She became involved in her profession because of her family background, and she attributes her success to her persistence.
Dr. Konia completed her Fellowship in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesiology at the University of California Davis Medical Center in 2007, her Chief Residency in Anesthesiology at the University of California Davis Medical Center in 2006, her Residency in Anesthesiology at the University of California Davis Medical Center in 2005, her Internship in Surgery at the Jackson Memorial Medical Center of the University of Miamiin 2003, her Residency in Internal Medicine and Critical Care at the University Medical Centre Ljubljana in 2002, her Fellowship in Cardiology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in 2000, and her Internship at the University Medical Centre Ljubljana in 1997. She received her MD from the University of
Ljubljana in 1996, her Ph.D. in Cardiology from the University of Ljubljana, and her Master of Science in Cardiology from the University of Ljubljana. She is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Medical Association, and the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists.
