Donna Clements Coker Honored by Cambridge Who's Who
Donna Clements Coker celebrates 18 years as a registered nurse for the Vanderbilt University Medical Center

NASHVILLE, TN, August 05, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Donna Clements Coker, Registered Nurse for Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in operating room nursing.

With 18 years of experience at Vanderbilt, Ms. Coker is responsible for overseeing her units, administering care for patients, troubleshooting, purchasing and budgeting for three cost centers, and covering the Pediatric Cardiac Surgery ORs. As a child, Ms. Coker wanted to work in the field of healthcare. She attributes her success to her persistence, educational background and the support she received from her family, friends and co-workers.

Ms. Coker, an Army Nurse Corps Reserve officer since 1987, currently holds the rank of LTC in the Tennessee Army National Guard. LTC Coker deployed to Germany for Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom.

Ms. Coker received her BSN from Middle Tennessee State University in 1995 and her Master of Science in Health Services Administration from the University of St. Francis in 1999. In addition to her formal education, she is certified to teach BCLS and PALS to American Heart Association standards and is an ACLS provider. She maintains her national certification for operation room nursing (CNOR) and is a member of the Association of Operating Room Nursing (AORN) and The National Guard Association of the United States (NGAUS).
