Inspired to enter his profession by his parents, who also worked in the field of healthcare, Dr. O'Brien has 21 years of experience as a physician. At the Dreyer Medical Clinic, he performs general, thoracic, and vascular surgery. Additionally, Dr. O'Brien serves as a department chairman and board member for the clinic. He attributes his success to his hard work.
At the University of Cincinnati, Dr. O'Brien completed a fellowship within the NIH Program of Excellence in Molecular Biology of the Heart and Lung, a residency, and an internship. In 1989, he graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine, he earned an MD. Board certified as a surgeon in 1997 and recertified in 2005, Dr. O'Brien is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract. He was inducted into The Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. O'Brien most recently introduced radiofrequency treatments to his clinic.
