Chicago, IL, May 14, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Mark Chwajol, MD, a neurosurgeon at the University of Illinois at Chicago, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in the surgical treatment of stroke, intracranial aneurysms, and other vascular lesions and tumors.
Dr. Mark Chwajol is pursuing a fellowship in cerebrovascular neurosurgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed his residency training in neurosurgery (2003-2009) and his internship in general surgery (2002-2003) at Montefiore Medical Center, The University Hospital of Albert Einstein CoM in the Bronx, NY. He received his Medical Degree from the State University of New York, Downstate College of Medicine, in Brooklyn, NY (1998-2002) and his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Behavior, Cum Laude from Columbia University (1993-1998). Dr. Chwajol completed six years in the United States Army Reserve and ran a flower distribution network in New York City and its surrounding suburbs before attending college. He has authored and co-authored several publications related to the diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases of the brain.
A member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, he intends to establish a high-volume cerebrovascular and brain tumor surgery practice in an academic setting.
