Tena S. Goff Honored for Demonstrated Excellence in Law Enforcement
Tena S. Goff celebrated for professional longevity in law enforcement

/Surgery News Articles/ -- COLUMBIA, SC, March 29, 2009, Tena S. Goff, Evidence Custodian for the Richland County Sheriff's Department, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in law enforcement.

With more than 16 years of professional experience in law enforcement, Tena S. Goff is uniquely positioned to handle and care for Richland County's forensic evidence. In her position with the Sheriff's Department, she specializes in managing the evidence room. Alongside five fellow staff members, she ensures that evidence is received and handled properly. Additionally, she stores evidence and maintains chain of custody of evidence for the local courts. She and her co-workers are also tasked with managing and transporting seized money to banks, as well as updating the department's policy and procedure manual. One of the primary liaisons for the Sheriff's posse, Ms. Goff notes that she became involved in her profession because she was influenced by a police officer.

In addition to her involvement with law enforcement, Ms. Goff has participated in 12 mission trips to Haiti. As part of her last trip, she worked with a surgical team to perform hip replacements, clubfoot repair, ankle hardware cleaning, hernia repair, and mastectomies, to name just a few. A certified search and rescue technician, Ms. Goff is proud to be the first in the State of South Carolina to become a Nationally Certified Property and Evidence Specialist. She is a Sgt. in the South Carolina Military Department Caisson Detachment, and is professionally affiliated with the National Association for Search & Rescue and the International Association for Property and Evidence.
