With no less than 44 years of experience devoted to patient care, Peggy D. Purchase has built a name for herself as an expert in gerontology. She recently passed the three-decade mark at Plainview Hospital, where she is entrusted with caring for patients in the medical-surgical unit. Ms. Purchase considers her nursing career to be a calling, and relishes the opportunity to provide not only quality health care to patients, but also comfort and companionship when they are afraid. She thus considers serving others to be the most gratifying aspect of her work. She attributes her success and longevity to her compassionate nature.

Ms. Purchase earned her bachelor's degree from St. Joseph's College. Her professional affiliations include the Professional Nurses Association of Suffolk County and Gerontology Professionals of Long Island. She is also actively involved in her local church, which she currently serves as treasurer.

Fulfilled by what she has achieved in her long career, Ms. Purchase plans to retire within the next few years in order to spend more time with her friends and family.
