Lora D. Epperly Recognized for Excellence in Nursing
Lora D. Epperly, RN, MSN, works as a director of clinical and resident services

ROANOKE, VA, December 30, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lora D. Epperly, RN, MSN, Chief Quality and Cultural Enhancement Officer at Commonwealth Care of Roanoke, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in health care.

With 33 years of field experience, Ms. Epperly has worked as the director of clinical and resident services at Commonwealth Care of Roanoke, Inc. for seven years and was recently promoted to Chief Quality and Cultural Enhancement Officer. During her career, she has developed skills in creating programs and strategic plans. In her position, her responsibilities include overseeing all of the clinical services for 1,000 long-term care patients throughout the state of Virginia, as well as managing program development. In her new position, she is responsible for all culture change initiatives as well as overseeing quality and clinical services. Previously, Ms. Epperly has worked as the director of surgical services. She has also worked in the acute and emergency department, critical care, home care and employee health benefits sectors of the medical field.

The daughter of a certified nursing assistant, Ms. Epperly received a Master of Science in nursing from Radford University. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, the Virginia Health Care Association and the Virginia Nurses Association. She is also affiliated with The American Nurses Association, Inc., the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators and the American Association for Long Term Care Nursing and the Gerontological Nursing Association. She is a former troop leader of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America. In the future, Ms. Epperly hopes to obtain a doctoral degree in nursing.
