Corey H. Whitlock Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Medical Technology
Corey H. Whitlock strives to promote the benefits of implant therapies

RALEIGH, NC, December 21, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Corey H. Whitlock, Principal Field Clinical Representative in the Cardiac Rhythm Management Group of Boston Scientific Corporation, was recently featured in Cambridge Publishing's Top 101 Industry Experts book. The Top Industry Experts reveals the objectives and triumphs prominent Cambridge members have achieved to gain success. Selected from more than 400,000 executives, professionals and entrepreneurs, these exemplary leaders stay at the top of their fields by possessing unique experience and wisdom, all the while exhibiting innovation in their work.

Corey H. Whitlock represents the new generation of implant procedures and implantable cardiac resynchronization devices as a principal field clinical representative within Boston Scientific Corporation's Cardiac Rhythm Management Group. He is responsible for handling cardiac resynchronization devices, assisting physicians with the insertion of pacemakers and defibrillators, and troubleshooting for cardiac devices—all in a day's work for an individual who fully embraces the role of patient caregiver. "I enjoy seeing them prosper and having the ability to improve their lives because of the devices that we implant or the programming that we make for those devices, which make them feel a lot better," he shares.

After working in a hospital cardiac catheterization laboratory for 13 years, Mr. Whitlock decided into transition to a new career in cardiac management. Working at Boston Scientific Corporation, he takes painstaking care in the recording and transmission of data for use by his colleagues and in patient education. A substantial part of his job has to do with dispelling the negative reputation that surrounds implant therapies. He notes that due to numerous recalls and lawsuits in the past, the public's perception of these therapies has been resoundingly negative, making people think twice before implanting a device that could potentially help them greatly. "They are afraid it will not function, so they don't get one," he states. Mr. Whitlock stands behind the products and services his company offers. He regards transparency as of the utmost importance in his dealings with patients, especially when they raise concerns about product safety. Yet his dedication to help patients thrive, and lead fulfilling and successful lives, is helping him gain success and grow within the company.

Mr. Whitlock holds an associate degree in radiologic technology from Wake Technical Community College. He is a Certified Allied Professional of the Heart Rhythm Society. In his spare time, Mr. Whitlock enjoys golfing, fishing, traveling and snowboarding.
