Joy A. Bliss, Ph.D. received the Governors Award for Outstanding Community Service from the State of Hawaii
Honolulu, HI, November 18, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Joy A. Bliss, Ph.D., Chief Operating Officer of Aesthetica Plastic and Laser Surgery Center and Medi Spa, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in medical marketing.
Joy A. Bliss, Ph.D. has worked in the health care field for 35 years. Since 1995, she has served as Chief Operating Officer of Aesthetica Plastic and Laser Surgery Center and Medi Spa in Honolulu. Tasked with managing all company operations, she has also become the go-to person for the company's marketing, accounting, and HR needs. She enjoys assisting the physicians, training new hires, and skillfully operating as a Certified Laser Technician. She attributes her success to her hard work, networking skills, never-give-up attitude and her Mom, and notes that she became involved in her profession through the inspiration she received from her husband, plastic surgeon Dr. Gregory Caputy.
Dr. Bliss holds a Ph.D. in Administration Management and Health Services from Walden University (1992), a Master of Science in Health Services Administration from Cardinal Stritch University (1990), and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Calgary (1985). She also completed an internship in the marketing division at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN (1988-1989), and earned a registered nurse diploma from Foothills School of Nursing (1975).
Dr. Bliss sits on the Board of Directors of the Hawaii Chapter of The International Dyslexia Association, serves as Vice President of the Hawaii Aesthetic and Wellness International Institute, and as Vice President and Treasurer of Aesthetic Community Services Inc. Additionally, she serves on Educate America's advisory committee, and is a Board Member of Educate America, Heald College, and the Gandhi International Institute for Peace.
In recognition of her accomplishments, Dr. Bliss received the Aster Award for medical marketing, two Gold Awards for television advertising, and awards for radio and TV spots that promoted national health care. While completing her education, Dr. Bliss received the Alumni Distinction Award from Cardinal Stritch University. She names Rainbow Child Program, X-Tattoo, and New Horizons at Punahou School among her favorite causes. Looking ahead, she hopes to establish an online laser training school and develop a skincare line for Dr.Caputy's office.
