LAFAYETTE, LA, October 26, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. John A. Hendry, Pediatric Dentist of Dr. John A. Hendry, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in dental care.

With 30 years of experience, Dr. Hendry serves as a pediatric dentist, specializing in preventive dentistry for children. Known for his ability to introduce children to dentistry in a pleasant and non-threatening atmosphere, he serves and supports patients from infancy to adulthood with superior dental care. He became involved in his profession because of his desire to improve childrens' health, and he attributes his success to his open-mindedness and integrity.

Dr. Hendry obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1977 and completed coursework in Pediatric Dentistry in 1979, both at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Dentistry in New Orleans. In addition, he has completed coursework at Springhill College in Mobile, Alabama. He serves on the Board of Trustees at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama, and is a member of the Louisiana Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the International College of Dentists. He attained the Professional of the Year Award from the Lafayette Association of Retarded Citizens (2001) and was President of the Academy of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities in 1997. In addtion, he was recognized as a diplomate by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (1986) and as a fellow by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (1984). He volunteers his time by serving for the United States Golf Association and as chairman of The Louisiana Golf Foundation. In the future, he intends to become more involved in access to care issues for all children.
