Dr. Connie J. Nicholson Showcases Her Career through Cambridge Who's Who
Dr. Connie J. Nicholson celebrates 28 years of success in her career

EL PASO, TX, October 28, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Connie J. Nicholson, Owner of Soft Touch Dental, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in dentistry and business management.

Connie J. Nicholson DDS, has been in private practice since 1982. Her enjoyment of people dictated her choice of general and preventative dentistry and it is where she earned her reputation for caring and compassion. She has been working out of her present location since 2002. In March of 2010, the practice name was changed to Soft Touch Dental. At that time Dr. Mimi B. Harmon joined the practice.

Dr. Nicholson grew up in a small town in Oklahoma, but moved around during her teen years. She attended four high schools in Oklahoma, Maryland and Brazil. She attended Allegany College of Maryland, earning an Associate of Arts Degree in general studies. She then attended the University of Texas, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with Honors. Lastly, she attended the University of Maryland Dental School, and earned her DDS in 1979.

After graduation from dental school, Dr Nicholson joined the U. S. Army as a Captain in the Dental Corps. She was promoted to Major four years later. In 1982 she purchased a retiring dentist practice in the Bassett Center area.

Dr. Nicholson attends numerous continuing education classes each year to learn about the latest advances in dentistry. She has been a member of the Academy of General Dentistry since 1995. She has also served as a board member of the local chapter of the AGD twice; from 2000-2003 and 2009-present. She is a lifetime member of Alpha Epsilon Delta, and the Military Order of World Wars, an organization that promotes and supports ROTC programs in local high schools. Dr. Nicholson has been a member of the Sales and Leads Club of El Paso since 1982. She was selected by the Consumers Research Council of America as one of America's Top Dentists.

Dr. Nicholson has been married to Ken Browning since 1981, and is a stepmother to two grown children and step grandmother of two. She has a brother who is also a dentist, and is blessed to have both parents living in the Dallas area. She believes the greatest challenge of a female dentist is to balance the tasks of work life and family/social life.

Dr. Nicholson's professional experiences up to this point have allowed her to work with many kinds of patients. She states the following: "I have learned that no two patients are alike, and I respect every one in his or her own unique way. For me, it is an honor and a privilege to be part of my patients' lives, watching kids grow up, grandparents get older, individuals going through tough times such as job loss and divorce. the passing of family members, and the courage of the people left behind, All of which remind me that the most important things in life are the relationships that we build with other human beings. I am proud to be a small part of this great relationship we share with our patients"

Dr. Nicholson is a founding member of Paws for Love, a pet therapy group sponsored by the Delta Society and the El Paso Humane Society. Over the last twelve years, Dr. Nicholson has visited with her dogs at adult day care centers, group homes, and The El Paso State Supported Center on Delta Street. She and her certified therapy dogs have participated in other activities, such as Generation 2000. She has been a member of the Rio Grande Obedience Dog Club since 2000, and trains her border collies and mini aussies in obedience and agility.
