Nick Nicholson was voted as one of the best bariatric doctors by D Magazine for the past two years in a row

PLANO, TX, October 30, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nick Nicholson, MD, General Surgeon for Nicholson Clinic, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in bariatric operations.

With nine years of experience as a general surgeon, Dr. Nicholson specializes in weight loss surgery. He is responsible for performing gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, lap band surgery and general surgeries for hernias, gallbladders, breast and thyroid, consulting with patients and teaching residents. He is also a medical director of weight loss surgery programs at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas and Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano, and he serves as an educational proctor for Johnson and Johnson. He was inspired by his father, a general surgeon, to join the medical field, and he developed an interest in weight loss surgery during his second year of his residency. He attributes his success to his opportunity to network with Baylor and his education in all the options for weight loss.

Dr. Nicholson completed his residency in General Surgery at Parkland Memorial Hospital through The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and obtained his MD from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1996. He is a member of numerous organizations, including the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
