Claire L. Scheele to Be Profiled in Exclusive Registry
Cambridge Who's Who honors Claire L. Scheele for achievement in medicine

MARTINSVILLE, IN, June 5, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Claire L. Scheele, MD, FACS, a physician with Morgan Surgical Specialists, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in
medical practice.

Dr. Scheele has been a practicing physician for nearly 30 years. She recently resumed her private general surgery practice in Martinsville, IN after five years with the Indian Health Service, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' health program for American Indians and Alaska Natives. She is affiliated with Morgan Hospital & Medical Center where she performs surgeries and visits patients in the mornings.

Dr. Scheele attributes her success to her listening skills and her passion for performing surgery that benefits her patients with the latest innovations. The highlights of her career have been participating in a NSABP P1 breast cancer prevention study and implementation of less invasive treatments for breast cancer. She initially intended to become a medical missionary but instead became a medical technologist and ultimately a doctor in 1973 after graduating from the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.

Dr. Scheele is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She is a member of the Indiana State Medical Association, the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.

She was named Physician of the Year in 1993 and is a Committee on Cancer Liaison member of the American College of Surgeons. She participates in volunteer community cancer screenings and hopes to continue to work with an academic surgeon to develop a regional breast care clinic.
