Dr. Tyrone Krause Joins Ranks of Leading Executives/Professionals
Dr. Tyrone Krause lectures on the national level on cardiothoracic surgery
NEWARK, NJ, May 1, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Tyrone Krause, Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Saint Michael's Medical Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of medicine.
With 17 years of experience in the medical field, Dr. Tyrone Krause specializes in cardiothoracic surgery. Since 2005, he has served as an associate director of cardiothoracic surgery for the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at Saint Michael's Medical Center. Previously, he was the chief chairman at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He has pioneered a number of procedures in the area of adult heart surgery, including minimally invasive heart surgery and complex valvular and bypass procedures. He has authored and co-authored numerous abstracts, papers and articles and has been published in The Journal of Investigative Surgery, Annals of Thoracic Surgery, Anesthesiology, Health Psychology and several other publications. Dr. Krause has lectured extensively on the national level and has begun focusing on quality-of-life issues following cardiac surgery, noting the potential for depressive symptoms. He recently received a grant from the National Institutes of Health to study the effects of religious faith on surgical recovery.
Dr. Krause completed his fellowship in Surgical Immunology and Echocardiology, his fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College, his residency in General Surgery at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, his internship in General Surgery at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center and coursework in medicine at New York Medical College. He received his Bachelor's Degree from New York University and is a certified surgeon through the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Among his professional affiliations are the New York Society for Thoracic Surgery, the New Jersey Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. Dr. Krause hopes to continue working as a heart surgeon and may pursue law as well.
