With 30 years of professional experience, Dr. Shoemaker specializes in obstetrics and gynecology. He was involved in pioneering laparoscopic gall bladder surgery in 1988 and is especially accomplished in performing laparoscopic hysterectomies. He also teaches many physicians how to perform these procedures. His interest in biology, science and the inspiration he received from his family members prompted him to pursue a career in medicine. He attributes his success to his persistence, stamina, integrity, and ability to maintain the highest level of quality.

Dr. Shoemaker completed his residency at Southwestern Medical Center and received his MD from the University of Texas at Galveston in 1973. He is a fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. In his spare time, he volunteers for fishery preservation associations and the Coastal Conservation Association. He aspires to teach physicians about advancements in age management medicine with a focus on health and wellness.
