New Outpatient Procedure Erases Up to 10 Years Instantly
The QuickLift , developed by Dominic Brandy, MD, dramatically reduces the signs of facial aging with little downtime.

/Surgery News Articles/ - Pittsburgh, PA - May 14, 2005 - A revolutionary outpatient procedure called the QuickLift tightens sagging skin in the lower face in a minimally invasive way and offers patients significant improvement immediately afterwards.

Dominic Brandy, MD, a Pittsburgh-based board-certified cosmetic surgeon and developer of the QuickLift, has revamped the traditional facelift by offering patients marked results without a lengthy recovery. According to Dr. Brandy, some patients are treated on a Friday and return to work on Monday or Tuesday with a more youthful appearance and improved self-esteem.

The QuickLift is performed under local anesthesia and takes approximately 1-2 hours depending on the patient's degree of skin laxity and the physician who performs the procedure.

"There are three primary differences with the QuickLift, when compared to conventional lifting techniques, said Dr. Brandy. "The QuickLift involves smaller incisions, purse-string sutures are used to tighten the subcutaneous musculature and prolong the result, and the procedure is done under local anesthesia, which minimizes the risk of complications. The results we've achieved for our patients have been quite dramatic, and very predictable."

Who is an ideal candidate for a QuickLift ?
The QuickLift is suggested for healthy men and women between the ages of 45 and 65+ with excess skin along their jaw lines and under their chins. Additional procedures, such as liposuction of the neck or eyelid surgery, can be performed with a QuickLift to address other conditions including double chins and excess skin above or beneath the eyes.

Is the technique medically proven?
Variations of the QuickLift have been performed for more than 30 years. As with any surgical procedure, recovery time and results vary with each doctor and patient.

Will visible scarring be present?
Most patients who have adhered to proper post-op care state that the incision lines are virtually undetectable. This may be possible because the incision lines are carefully planned along the sideburn area, behind the tragus of the ear and around the earlobe toward the nape, and suturing is performed under magnification to ensure more precise closure.

How can more information about the QuickLift be obtained?
